Best Shopify inventory management apps in 2026

Shopify tracks how many units you have at each location. An inventory management app adds the jobs Shopify leaves to you: deciding what to reorder, sending and receiving purchase orders, moving stock between locations, counting it, and tying its cost to your books.

Stocky, the free app many stores used for this, shut down on August 31, 2026. This guide compares nine options Shopify brands use instead. We make SKUSavvy, so read it with that in mind; every claim about the others links to the vendor's own pages.

Last verified: October 2026. Vendors change plans and prices often, so confirm current terms with each vendor before you buy.

What a Shopify inventory app should do

  • Show stock at every location in one place, and sync it back to Shopify

  • Suggest what to reorder from sales velocity, supplier lead time and stock already on order

  • Create purchase orders, send them to suppliers and receive them by scanning

  • Move stock between warehouses and stores, with a record on both ends

  • Count stock by location or bin without closing the store or warehouse

  • Track kits and bundles, and lots, serial numbers and expiry dates where you need them

  • Carry product cost into your accounting software

How to judge a Shopify inventory app

Where your stock lives

If all your stock sits in one store room, Shopify admin may be enough. If you run a warehouse, check whether the app knows the bin each SKU sits in, or only the location. Bins are what make receiving, counts and picking fast.

Set up Shopify bin locations with scannable barcode labels

How it decides what to reorder

A reorder point only tells you when you are low. Good suggestions also use sales velocity, supplier lead time and what is already on order. Check whether forecasting is included or a paid add-on.

What it costs as you grow

Inventory apps charge per user, per order, by revenue or by quote. Price your volume for next year, count the people who will use it, and ask about add-ons, onboarding fees and contract length.

Winner: SKUSavvy. Kits are built ahead into a bin or assembled while the order is picked, and buildable kit sync keeps Shopify stocked with the kits you could build. If you manufacture with bills of materials, look at Katana or Cin7 Core instead.

1. SKUSavvy: best for brands that run their own warehouse

SKUSavvy is a Shopify inventory and warehouse system for brands that store and ship their own stock. Every SKU has a bin on a map of your warehouse, and purchasing, receiving, counts and transfers all run on a phone or tablet.

Replacing Stocky? See how SKUSavvy covers itSee how kitting and in-line assembly work in SKUSavvy

Best for: Shopify brands that hold stock in their own warehouse, back room or stores and want bins as well as counts.

Strengths

  • Purchase orders with reorder suggestions from sales velocity, supplier lead time, committed and expected stock. A person confirms each PO.

  • Receive by barcode scan straight into a bin, with costs tracked per vendor

  • Transfers between warehouses and stores, with steps on both the sending and receiving side

  • Cycle counts by bin on a phone, without stopping the rest of the floor

  • Kits for bundles and light assembly: recipes can turn one or many inputs into one or many outputs

  • Pre-assemble kits into a bin with a guided pick of each input, or build them in line while picking a bundle order

  • Buildable kit sync: Shopify shows how many kits you could build from ingredients in stock, and every kit drops within seconds when an ingredient runs low

  • Lots, expiry dates and serial numbers

  • Two-way Shopify sync for products, orders and inventory, including several stores and Shopify POS

  • Unlimited users and warehouses, published pricing and a 30-day trial with no credit card

Limits

  • Built around Shopify: other sales channels connect through Shopify, not directly

  • QuickBooks Online syncs through a $50/month add-on; no Xero or NetSuite integration

  • No direct Stocky import: suppliers, barcodes and bins come in from CSV files

  • Kitting covers bundles and light assembly, not production batches with shrinkage or multi-level manufacturing

  • Not a fit if you hold no stock (dropship only) or ship mainly through Amazon FBA

Starting price: $179/month, includes the first 249 orders, then $0.20 down to $0.06 per order.

2. Shopify admin: best for simple stock at a few locations

Shopify's own admin now covers the basics Stocky used to: purchase orders, transfers between locations and stock counts. Sidekick, Shopify's AI assistant, suggests what to reorder and drafts the purchase order.

Best for: Single-brand stores with simple purchasing that want to stay inside Shopify.

Strengths

  • Included in every Shopify plan, with nothing to install

  • Purchase orders with suppliers, payment terms and currencies, received through a linked transfer

  • Transfers between locations, received in full or in part, with barcode scanning and in Shopify POS

  • Stock counts in the admin, and Quick Count in Shopify POS

  • Order routing by stock and distance across locations

Limits

  • No built-in low-stock alerts: Shopify points to Shopify Flow or an alert app

  • Bins only within one location, with no tracking of moves between bins

  • Purchase orders cannot be emailed from Shopify; you export a PDF and send it

  • Bundles need a separate bundles app

  • Location limits by plan: 10 on Basic, Grow and Advanced, 200 on Plus

Starting price: included with Shopify, from $39/month on Basic ($29/month billed yearly).

3. Cin7 Core: best for wholesale plus DTC with assembly

Cin7 Core, formerly DEAR Inventory, covers inventory, purchasing, light manufacturing and B2B, with native accounting sync.

Best for: Brands that sell wholesale and DTC, need batch and expiry or assembly, and close the books in Xero or QuickBooks Online.

Strengths

  • Unlimited inventory locations on every plan

  • Purchase orders, supplier management and multi-currency

  • Kits, bundles, bills of materials and auto-assembly

  • Batch, serial number and expiry tracking

  • Native Xero and QuickBooks Online integration with COGS tracking

  • B2B portal, POS and EDI connections, some as add-ons

Limits

  • AI demand forecasting (ForesightAI) is a paid add-on on every plan

  • Order caps: Standard allows 6,000 sale orders a year, about 500 a month

  • The Standard warehouse app supports one warehouse; multi-warehouse needs Advanced or an add-on on Pro

  • Only 2 e-commerce or app integrations on Standard

Starting price: $349/month (Standard: 5 users, 6,000 sale orders a year). 14-day free trial.

4. Finale Inventory: best for multichannel sellers who care about inventory accounting

Finale Inventory, now owned by Descartes, handles multichannel inventory, purchasing and inventory valuation, with an optional barcode warehouse module.

Best for: Sellers on Amazon FBA and Shopify with one or more warehouses who want landed cost and valuation tied to QuickBooks.

Strengths

  • Multi-warehouse stock with cycle counts, lot IDs and serial numbers

  • Automated purchase orders, min-max reordering and sales velocity forecasting

  • Kits, bundles, alias SKUs and FBA support

  • Barcode warehouse module for receiving, picking, counts and transfers, with lot, batch and expiry tracking

  • QuickBooks Online and Xero integrations, with landed cost, COGS and valuation reports

Limits

  • High entry price for a small store

  • The barcode warehouse module is not in Essentials

  • Demo-led onboarding; 12, 24 or 36-month terms are typical

  • API and EDI access only on Enterprise

Starting price: from $499/month (Essentials, 1 to 2 warehouses). From $799/month with the barcode warehouse module.

5. Zoho Inventory: best for small stores on a budget

Zoho Inventory is low-cost inventory and order management, part of the Zoho suite. It connects to Shopify from inside Zoho, not through the Shopify App Store.

Best for: Small Shopify stores that need reorder points and batch tracking without a big contract.

Strengths

  • A free plan, and the lowest published paid price in this list

  • Multi-warehouse stock, transfer orders and bin locations

  • Reorder points with automatic notifications

  • Composite items (kits and bundles) from Standard

  • Serial and batch tracking with expiry, and barcode generation, from Premium

  • Zoho Books built in, plus Xero and QuickBooks Online integrations

Limits

  • Strict order caps: 500 orders a month on Standard, 3,000 on Premium

  • Serial and batch tracking and barcodes need Premium or higher

  • Few locations on the lower plans: 2 on Standard, 4 on Premium

  • No demand forecasting listed

Starting price: free (50 orders a month), then $39/month on Standard ($29/month billed yearly). 14-day trial of paid plans.

6. Katana: best for brands that make their own products

Katana Cloud Inventory covers inventory, production and orders for brands that manufacture, co-manufacture or resell.

Best for: DTC brands that manufacture or assemble their own products and sell mainly through Shopify.

Strengths

  • Unlimited users on every plan

  • Sales and purchase orders, with landed cost on purchase orders

  • Kits and bundles with automatic stock tracking

  • Barcode scanning for receiving, counts and materials

  • Planning and forecasting, with AI purchase order suggestions

  • QuickBooks Online and Xero integrations

Limits

  • Batch and serial tracking is a $249/month add-on

  • Core includes 1 inventory location; more cost extra

  • Priced partly by delivered sales orders, and the per-order rate is not published

  • Onboarding on Core is $2,000, and Katana says you need it

Starting price: from $299/month on Core, plus per-order usage. A free plan covers 30 SKUs.

7. Prediko: best for forecasting and purchase planning after Stocky

Prediko adds AI demand forecasting, a supply planner and purchase orders on top of Shopify. It imports Stocky suppliers and purchase orders. It is a planning tool, not a full inventory or warehouse system.

Best for: Shopify-first DTC brands that want forecasting and purchase planning without changing the rest of their setup.

Strengths

  • Demand forecasting and a 12-month purchase order calendar with restock suggestions

  • Unlimited purchase orders with buying alerts

  • Multi-store and multi-location stock, with suggested transfers between locations

  • Bundle inventory across locations, stock counts and barcode scanning

  • Xero and QuickBooks integrations

  • Unlimited users, SKUs, stores and warehouses on every plan

Limits

  • Picking, packing and bins stay in Shopify or your warehouse system

  • No lot, serial or expiry tracking listed

  • Raw materials and bills of materials forecasting is a paid add-on

  • The price rises with your revenue, not with what you use

Starting price: $49/month for stores under $100K in yearly sales. 14-day free trial.

8. Linnworks: best for high-volume multichannel sellers

Linnworks runs listings, orders, inventory, warehouse and shipping across many sales channels. It bought SkuVault in 2022 and sells it as SkuVault Core in North America.

Best for: High-volume sellers on Amazon, eBay, Walmart and Shopify who are ready for a quoted contract.

Strengths

  • One stock pool across your own warehouses, 3PLs and dropship suppliers

  • Reorder points and stock levels by SKU, supplier and warehouse, with purchase orders built from them

  • Lots (FIFO, FEFO or LIFO), serial numbers and kits with the Enhanced Warehouse add-on

  • SkuVault Core for barcode picking, packing and quality checks in North America

  • A preferred integration with Inventory Planner by Sage for deeper demand planning

Limits

  • No published prices; every quote goes through sales, plus a one-off onboarding fee

  • Stock forecasting is a paid add-on to Linnworks Advanced

  • Enhanced Warehouse and SkuVault Core are available in North America only

  • Xero and QuickBooks Online connect through a third party, SyncTools

Starting price: quote only, tiered by monthly orders.

9. Brightpearl: best for orders, inventory and accounting in one system

Brightpearl by Sage runs orders, inventory, warehouse and accounting for retailers and wholesalers, with a guided implementation.

Best for: Established multichannel retail or wholesale brands that want orders, inventory and accounting together.

Strengths

  • Shopify integration across several stores, with multi-location stock, bundles, POS orders and order edits

  • Built-in inventory accounting: FIFO, landed costs and a live profit and loss

  • Barcode scanning with serial, lot and expiry tracking, and guided put-away

  • Bundles, assemblies, replenishment and stocktakes with variance approval

  • Unlimited users in every contract

  • Demand planning through Inventory Planner, also owned by Sage

Limits

  • No published prices and no self-serve trial

  • Go-live typically takes 90 to 120 days

  • The QuickBooks Online connector is built by a partner

Starting price: quote only, with unlimited users.

AppWhat happened

Stocky

Shut down by Shopify on August 31, 2026. Data stays available to export, read only, for at least 90 days.

TradeGecko / QuickBooks Commerce

Bought by Intuit in 2020 and renamed QuickBooks Commerce, then discontinued on August 31, 2023.

Orderhive

Bought by Cin7 in 2021 and no longer sold. orderhive.com redirects to Cin7.

DEAR Inventory

Renamed Cin7 Core in January 2023.

SkuVault

Bought by Linnworks in 2022 and sold as SkuVault Core, in North America only.

3PL Central

Renamed Extensiv in 2022.

Inventory Planner

Now Inventory Planner by Sage. Its Shopify App Store listing says it is not currently available.

How to move to SKUSavvy

  1. Start a trial and connect Shopify. Products, orders and inventory sync both ways.

  2. Map your warehouse. Add your aisles, shelves and bins, and print bin labels.

  3. Bring in suppliers and barcodes. Import them from CSV exports or spreadsheets. There is no direct Stocky import.

  4. Count, then switch. Cycle count your fastest movers, then move purchasing and receiving into SKUSavvy.
