Print labels in one click from any device, iPads included. No print dialog or popup, and sharp ZPL labels on Zebra printers.
Why Use a Print Station
Click print and keep working. A print station sends each label straight to the printer: no print dialog, no popup, nothing to confirm.
No print dialog
One click prints the label. There is no print dialog to wait for, no printer to choose and no Print button to click a second time.
Keep working
The label is on its way the moment you click. The button says "Sent to Pack Station 1" and you go straight on to the next order. Nothing opens over your work.
Sharper labels
On a Zebra or other ZPL printer, the label goes to the printer in ZPL, its own language, drawn dot for dot at its resolution. No driver rescales it, so barcodes and small text come out crisp.
Any device, any network
iPads, phones and computers all print to the label printer on the floor. They do not need to be on its network.
How It Works
Every label goes through SKUSavvy. SKUSavvy Print, an app on the desktop connected to the printer, picks it up and prints it. The desktop can print to its own station too.
Keep the desktop on and awake. SKUSavvy Print starts when you log in.
In SKUSavvy, open Print Stations and click Set Up.
Download SKUSavvy Print and install it. On a Mac, choose Apple Silicon or Intel.
Open it. The app is not signed yet, so the first time, a Mac blocks it: click Done, then Open Anyway in System Settings > Privacy & Security. On Windows, click More info > Run anyway.
Click Add Station, name it (for example "Pack Station 1") and click Add. Add one station for each printer.
Click Pair a computer and enter the code in SKUSavvy Print.
Choose the Printer and click Test print. SKUSavvy Print shows Ready.
Print to a Station
On each device, choose the station in the printer menu next to a print button. Each browser remembers its choice. Choose None (browser print dialog) to go back.
Status
What happens to a label
Online
It comes out now.
Offline
It waits up to 10 minutes for SKUSavvy Print to reconnect, then it is dropped.
Not paired
It is refused. Pair a computer first.
Printer Settings
Set these in SKUSavvy Print. Choose Label printer (ZPL) for a Zebra or other ZPL printer: it skips the printer driver and gives the sharpest barcodes.
Setting
Use it when
Resolution
Labels come out too large or too small. Set it to the dpi of the printer.
Top offset and Left offset
Labels are cut off or not centered.
Orientation
Labels come out upside down.
Label stock
Labels feed wrong. Match gaps, black marks or a continuous roll.
Default size
A label has no size of its own, such as a built-in bin label.
To reuse the settings on another station, click the copy icon next to Test print.
Troubleshooting
Start with the station status next to the printer menu.
01
Why did my label not come out?
Check the status. If it is offline, open SKUSavvy Print on the desktop and check that the desktop is awake. Labels older than 10 minutes are dropped, so send it again.
02
Can an iPad be a print station?
No. SKUSavvy Print runs on Mac and Windows. iPads and phones send to a station.
03
SKUSavvy Print says the print came from an older version of SKUSavvy
SKUSavvy was updated since you opened it. Refresh SKUSavvy and try again.
04
SKUSavvy Print says this computer was unpaired
The station was deleted, or another computer was paired with it. Pair this one again.
05
How do I reprint a label?
Click Reprint under Recent prints in SKUSavvy Print. It keeps the last 20 labels until it quits.
06
How do I move a station to another computer?
Click Pair a computer on the station and pair the new one. The old one stops getting labels.
07
Does everything go to the station?
Everything except a multi-box carrier label that the carrier sends as one PDF. That opens in a browser tab.
